Then last spring they decided to hire a contractor to finish the sanctuary and the building exterior. The result looks great as the photos show. The lower level, however, remained unfinished. A lot of the infrastructure (heating, electric, plumbing, etc.) is in place, but it needs drywall, trim and paint, as well as carpet. |
That was to change this past week as the contractors were returning. When finished the down stairs will provide a large fellowship area and room for children’s ministry. The outside sign has the 9:30 a.m. time taped over for now. Soon there will be a functioning Christian Education ministry for children and adults on Sunday morning and the tape will be removed. We left our home in Carlisle at 7:30 Sunday morning and arrived at Logos fifteen minutes before their 10:30 start time which gave me time to take some photos. I think we surprised Christine and Bennie as I hadn’t let them know we were coming. They and all the people welcomed us as one of their own. The church is blessed with real quality music led by Bennie on the keyboard. Christine’s message came from Matthew 6:25-34 and focused on our need to trust God and not worry about non-essentials for God knows our needs and cares for us. She brought an excellent message, but I teased her afterward about using medical analogies. It’s what you would expect from a preacher M.D., right? |

Soli Deo Gloria!
Eagle Scout Project at CGGC
Mike is a member of Troop #322, the Troop chartered by the CGGC office. This project has been Mike’s vision from the beginning as he seeks to bless the organization that has blessed him. The pavilion will serve well as an outdoor meeting area for staff and many CGGC related gatherings. Current organizational tenants of the building will find it useful and it will be available to serve our local community on a reservation basis. It will be constructed in close proximity to the walking trail (another scouting project!) that is nearing completion on a portion of the ten acres the conference owns at the back of our property.
To date we have been blessed with donations of $1,055.00. Mike is hoping to have the all funds in hand to begin construction in April. Please pray for Mike and the project, donate if you are able and feel so led, and thank God for another quality youth being raised up in the community.
