The ACTS Teams have been sending folks to serve in Jesus’ name for over 40 years. The ministry started with a focus on youth and young people and have served in various locations around the United States and around the world: Kenya, Brazil, Sweden, Venezuela, and Mexico have been ACTS Team locations in recent years. God has used the ministry of the ACTS Teams to advance the work being done on CGGC mission fields as well as expose hundreds of young people to what God is doing around the globe.
I’d encourage you to be praying for the ACTS Teams this week and throughout the summer. The events of this past week in Manchester remind us that there is always the potential for danger, whether home or abroad, and so you can pray for the teams and for their protection from the evil one. You can also pray for those they serve, that they might be blessed through the ministry of the ACTS Teams. You can pray for the leaders and team members; that God would use this experience to deepen their faith, shape their character and grow their competency in serving Christ and others.
I’d also encourage you to consider going on an ACTS Team in the future. The slate of ACTS Teams for 2018 will be available later this summer at www.cggc.org. Perhaps you need to invite a young person in your sphere of influence to join you for a week next summer as you serve in a cross cultural setting in Jesus’ name. I intend to do this with my children in the future.
I’ve been blessed to be a part of several ACTS Teams over the past ten years and each experience has deepened my faith and given me a greater vision and understanding of our heavenly Father and His work in this world. Let’s pray for those serving this week and throughout the rest of the summer. Pray that God would continue to use the ministry of the ACTS Teams to demonstrate and proclaim His good news throughout the world.
Christ’s Peace,
Lance
